About Jay De Bari.
Jason De Bari graduated as a Bachelor of Fine Arts from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in 1993. “Jay” worked professionally in Film and TV production based out of New York and Los Angeles as both an Art Department Coordinator and Location Scout for the following nine years. Tasked with bringing organization and fiscal accountability to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment from a very young age, he excelled in his field, working on Projects such as Zoolander, School of Rock, Sex & The City and having the opportunity to work with a personal hero, Martin Scorsese. In 2004, he joined with long-time friends and associates from production days to help establish Roman and Williams Buildings and Interiors in New York City. Over the following 13 years, serving as CFO/COO, he was foundational in building the company into an internationally renowned and award-winning design firm, including its 2014 National Design Award from the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. The growth of the firm was meteoric, requiring careful planning and management to ensure that the company could meet its market demand and be built on a model to endure. Jay’s responsibilities at the company were comprehensive; strategically planning company growth, steering it successfully through the recession, leading business development and sales, serving as a primary Client interface, managing staff issues from individual projects to HR, leading teams of accountants, lawyers, insurers, service providers and developing a business plan for the firm’s forthcoming retail endeavor. All the work was aimed at “setting the table” for the Principals to be able to focus on their craft and their art.
